Welcome Back

Welcome To Stevens High School

August 2022

Dear Stevens High School  Students and Parents,

With great pleasure, I write to welcome you and your students to the 2022- 2023 school year at Stevens High School.  I hope that your summer has been enjoyable.  Our first day of school for ALL students will be on September 6th.  Our focus will be on providing each student with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience.   As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school and we welcome your involvement.

As principal, I’m very excited to welcome back all of our returning students as well as the new ones who will be joining us.  How quickly summer concludes and our thoughts turn to preparing for another school year.  This is always an exciting time of the year.  The Stevens High School faculty and staff eagerly await welcoming our new families and students and catching up with returning families and students, as well.

This Year Stevens High School will be divided into two Houses based on your student's last name. If you have any questions please contact your student’s House Assistant Principal, or me for more information.

  • Assistant Principal, Michael Herrington.   A-K

  • Principal, Chris Pratt.  L-Z

Also, this year we will be having a House meeting once a month to recognize students for the positive contributions they are making to Stevens High School, along with other announcements for the month.  In addition,  SHS will be starting a Restorative Justice/Practices program and you will be provided more information and details on this as the year progresses.

Please get into the habit of going to the school website at shs.sau6.org  The school uses the website as an important communication and resource tool for the community and families at Stevens High School.   It is equally important for your student(s) to check their school email regularly.

As Principal, I will listen, observe and meet with people to identify what works well and what things can be improved upon.  I’m sure that the faculty and staff will assist me in their roles and together, we can forge ahead in building a school environment built on:

 (C.A.A.R.E)

 Communication

 Accountability

 Acceptance

 Respect

 Empathy

I would also like to remind everyone that if your child is going to be arriving at school late or absent, please make sure you call the school no later than 8:00 a.m. at (603)-543-4220 ext. 1000.

Last but not least, please make an appointment to see me if you have questions or concerns about anything. Many times, assumptions are made based on inaccurate or incomplete information.   So please don’t hesitate to contact me so I can assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.  My door is always open.  The staff and I look forward to welcoming you to another wonderful school year.  Below is a link to the REVISED SHS Parent Student HandbookSee you all soon!  22-23 Revised SHS Parent/Student Handbook
